Favorite Cookbook Friday Review:

Although it’s only been 5 weeks in the series Favorite Cookbook Friday, I thought it would be a good time to review them in order of appearance. I would also like to take the time to highlight a few recipes I want to experiment with next from each book.

Week #1

Home cooking with Trisha Yearwood and Hot Corn Dip, was the recipe I shared with you for the debut book and recipe. This recipe is easy, quick and delicious. Not necessarily in that order. Let me know when you try it!

To do list:

  • Beignets
  • Charleston Cheese Dip
  • Uncle Wilsons Stuffed Bell Peppers
  • Pork Medallions

Week #2

Sylvia’s Family Soul Food Cookbook

The Lemon Pound Cake recipe in this book is Number O.N.E.. Make sure all ingredients are room temperature when baking a pound cake.

To do list:

  • Sweet and Sour Sassy Turkey Wings
  • Golden Fried Sweet Potatoes and Apples
  • Crizette’s Crispy Corn Fritters
  • Bedelia’s Sassy Rice

Week #3

The Muffin Lady

Muffins are like dessert for breakfast!

To do list:

  • Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins
  • Rum Spice Buns
  • My Favorite Icing
  • Peach Muffins

Week #4

Webster’s New World Dictionary of Culinary Arts

If you need to know what they are talking about on Food Network keep this book handy. No recipes just a reference book.

To do list:

  • Keep this book forever

Week #5

LaBelle Cuisine

Company’s Coming Spicy Chicken Salad was so delicious. We ate it so fast! I used over four pounds of chicken! I will be making it again soon.

To do list:

  • Butterflied Lobster Tails with Herbs and Garlic Butter
  • Don’t Block the Blessing Dressing
  • Scandalously Rich Rum Cake
  • Polynesian Roast Pork with Fruit Sauce
  • Patti’s Potato Salad

This is bad, it’s time for bed and I’m hungry all over again…. I guess I’ll have to sleep these cravings off.

Until next time,

Kim
